What is ITEP?
The International Treatment Effectiveness Project (ITEP) is part of the NTA’s Treatment Effectiveness Strategy, which identified areas for enhancing the quality of treatment interventions. The project was a collaboration between the NTA, the Institute of Behavioural Research (IBR) in Texas and several service providers in England. Previous research conducted by IBR showed that clients receiving psychosocial interventions had more favourable outcomes in terms of treatment participation.
The ITEP Project further developed this model of intervention improvement and adapted it to evaluate the use of psychosocial interventions (PSI) throughout English substance misuse services. Using a care planning approach (referred to as mapping) in the form of a manual, key workers reported that it was easier to build rapport, clients engaged more and there was a reduction in both illicit drug use and offending behaviour.
Consulting Circles
Circles deliver therapeutic support, group work, CPD workshops and social care training that has been developed by a core team of experienced trainers. We facilitate the growth of skills and knowledge amongst key worker and care co-ordination staff working in the Social Care field.
DANOS Mapped
This workshop has been mapped to the following DANOS units; AA2, AA6, B15, AF2, AG1, A11, and A13. All delegates will be equipped with individual handbooks and training materials that will be easily translatable in their workplace, providing them with an invaluable tool that can be used time and time again
